I stumbled across some old sketches from my high school and college years. I'll be posting some of them soon. I kick myself for letting so many years go by without honing my skills. I don't think I could do these drawings today if I tried my hardest.

I've always enjoyed comic style hand-drawn art. I did a lot of drawing back in high school but not much since then. I'd say I was born with a little raw talent, but I've always had a hard time focusing long enough to develop it. I started a DA account to journal my progress as I make a long overdue attempt to develop some artistic skill.

Lara Croft Sketch
I salvaged this one from a weathered piece of notebook paper. I surprised myself when I drew this. It's the first time I can remember drawing something original (in the sense that I was not looking at another artists work) that seemed to have a unique personality and style, though you can still see a heavy Campbell influence on the face. Anyway, a personal favorite of mine despite some obvious flaws and weathering.

Aspen of Fathom Sketch
A sketch I did of Michael Turner's character Aspen back when I was in high school. It was drawn directly from looking at the issue #0 if I remember correctly.

Abbey Chase Sketch
A sketch I did years ago when I was in high school. I was looking at the preview issue of the recently launched "Danger Girl" series. I've always admired J. Scott Campbell's work.
